Week 24th-30th November
FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING
1. The liturgical feast of Christ the King will be celebrated this year on Sunday, 24th November. The Diocesan celebration will start at 5.00 pm with a procession from the monument of Christ the King, Floriana, to St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta, where vespers will be said. This celebration will be led by the Archbishop Mons Charles J. Scicluna, who will also speak on this important feast for the Church. Sacramental Blessing will be given at the close of the celebration.
2. As announced last week, this is the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of our parish. It is therefore fitting that, during the week when our parish celebrates its feast, the Immaculate Conception, we should also commemorate this event. Throughout the week, the parish church will be graced by the devotional painting of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu, which has been kindly lent to us by the Rector of the Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, Gozo. A detailed programme is on the notice boards.
3. During mass of the four Sundays of Advent, we will be talking about the four important spaces in the Liturgy: The Priest’s Chair, the Ambo/Lectern, the Altar and the Tabernacle.
4. The Swieqi Local Council notifies that there are still available influenza vaccines, which will be given on Monday 25th November, in the evening. Please call the Local Council for an appointment.
