Week 15th – 21st December 2024
1. Advent activities: A retreat/prayer meeting for children will be held on Sunday 15th December, after the 9.45 Mass up to 12 noon.
2. Christmas Eve/Day Events: Bookings at the parish office are open for the Christmas Breakfast being held after Midnight Mass.
3. Christmas Programme
• From Monday 16th to Saturday 21st December: Christmas Novena Prayer, 7.00 – 7.20 pm (after the 6.30pm Mass).
• Procession with the statue of Baby Jesus on Thursday 19th December at 5.30pm. Children and parents are to meet near the Catechism entrance.
• Tuesday 24th December – Christmas Eve
- Mass 6.30pm, Carol singing 8.30pm and 9.00pm mass (in English)
- 10.30pm: Carol Singing in Church
- 11.00pm: Christmas Eve Mass, and the traditional Children's Sermon followed by Community Breakfast.
• Wednesday, 25th December – Christmas Day
- Mass: 8.00am, 9.45am (Children's mass)), 11.00am, 12.15pm (in English), 6.30pm
• Tuesday, 31st December – New Year's Eve
- Evening Masses: 5.00pm, 6.30pm (Thanksgiving Mass)
- After the 6.30pm Mass: Exposition of the Holy Sacrament and the Te Deum Prayer, giving thanks to God for the past year.
• Wednesday, 1st January: Mary Mother of God
- Masses: 8.00am, 9.45am (for children), 11.00am, 12.15pm (in English), 6.30pm
- Special Collection for “Dar tal-Providenza”
4. Jubilee Year 2025: The opening of the Jubilee Year 2025 will take place on Sunday 29th December 2024, starting at the church of St Paul, Rabat. Those attending the celebration should be at St Paul’s Basilica not later than 4.45pm; the celebration will continue with a pilgrimage to Mdina and Mass, ending at 7.30pm (see noticeboard). The Ibrag Parish will be organising transport by vans to drop people off in Rabat, or Mdina for those who would prefer to go directly there. Those who wish to book transport are to inform the Parish Priest or the Parish Secretariat as soon as possible.
